Sally Mann

This image connects with me because honestly back home i see twelve year old girls smoking cigarettes. this is called candy cigarette and i think it is a cool image because she places her two other children facing away from the camera and the daughter looking at you reads I'm BAD ASS and I KNOW IT ! and her expression, posture and relationship to the other figures give that away.

Abelardo Morell’s

Abelardo Morell’s  photographs remind us that photography is more about how we see than the tools we use to create it.He takes an ordinary room –  a hotel room — and transforms it into a camera. These a extraordinary images alter our perception of reality and our placement in it. I think  it is interesting how he he exposes the film for such a long period.  It is also interesting how you never see a car in these images the reality of the matter is cars aren't a constant and neither are people and that what i think of when i see these images.

Michael Kenna

This photo is by Michael  Kenna, i chose this image because of our invention discovery slide show. i really liked the image we saw by him so i looked up more of his work. the sky in this photo is amazing. i also like how it looks like the rock is centered in the composition but, it isn't it is off centered slightly and it keeps you grounded. Looking at the sky it feels like you are going off into the distance so the rock is placed perfectly to keep you in the composition.

Arthur Tress

I love how empty this photo looks. it feels like she is all alone but, if you notice in the top right left corner there is another kid.

Annie Leibovits

The photo I chose by Annie Leibovits is the photo she took of Demi Moore Will pregnant with scout at 7 months. I love this photo because so many others have tried to recreate it but have not been very successful. Leibovits adds something to the photo others don't and the thing I believe that is Demi's motherly passion and beauty and also her Strength.

Robert Polidori

This photo is from Robert Polidori's
New Orleans: After the Flood Series
Robert Polidori is the photographer I did my emulation project on last year. This photo really inspires me because although there is all this debris this is still someones home. things are still on the walls and the walls still have the paint the family chose. this to me is the epitome of beauty after a storm.
